.July 18, 2008 - Out of sight, out of mind

-Snoopy.

Hi guys. It's been a pretty long time since our last update and, to be perfectly honest with you, we don't REALLY have 2 weeks worth of manga to give you. But it is pretty close to it, so hopefully you'll forgive us this one slip. Actually, I've been moving this past week and a half (July 4th weekend was the big stuff, but all the little stuff is taking way longer...) and I only got my manga and stuff onto bookcases a couple of days ago... I'll probably post pictures sooner or later... the volume of foreign comics in our computer room is rather embarrassing and should be shared. So, that said, *I* didn't really work very hard on this release, but the staff poured some blood, sweat and tears into their computer screens to bring you lots of stuff (including a *gasp* new project).

First off, new friends! Many of you remember the good old days with Yakitate!! Japan as fondly as we do around here at SC, so I'm very pleased to say that we have something extra special for you today. Saijou no Meii (or 'The Best-Skilled Surgeon' if you prefer official English titles) comes to you via your favorite bread-loving author and the only group crazy enough to try to translate his work. Now. Before you go rushing to download this expecting deathbed humor catheter fights, I actually have to warn you all that this isn't really a comedy. It's a more or less tastefully done story about doctors trying their best to save lives in a Japanese hospital with some great character-driven comedy, sure, but with a serious premise. I was a bit turned off at first ("Wha... where's the plastic surgery battles...?"), but I've actually grown quite addicted to this one.

Next, old friends! Bio Meat makes a triumphant return! No long shpeel for this one, but I'm sure that all of you BM faithful will join me in a rousing "BIO MEAT! BANZAI!"

Now, the standard stuff. Franken Fran comes in with chapter 14 and the introduction of a new character and what could possibly be the hint of a plot. Lucu Lucu returns with some cute demon goodness. Change 123 comes in and blasts its way into your hearts with one chapter that will most surely leave you begging for more (glimpses of Fujiko's nipples). Deadman Wonderland is now available, as well... and all of you that emailed me about it are surely very happy to see it again, I'm sure. Next up is MiXiM12 with chapter 10 (chapter 11 and 12 will be coming shortly... all of a sudden we're 2 weeks behind... imagine that). And finally, rounding out the night, we give you the re-release of Doubt chapter 6 in high quality volume scans.

Lots of manga. Seeing all these old authors with new projects makes me pretty undeniably excited, I have to say. And speaking of that, is anyone interested in scanning Undead for us when it comes out in Big Comic Spirits? Honestly, the site really doesn't have the funds to subscribe to another magazine at the moment, but I'm extremely interested to see Inoue working on a horror manga. Images of Hello Kitty in a blender come to mind.

.June 30, 2008 - Long time no see

-Snoopy.

Sorry about the delay, guys, some things came up... you know, people to eat and all that.

This time we've got a special friend that goes by the name Himizu chapter 13 to give you. Amazingly enough, Himizu is the least downloaded and most requested series that we work on here at SC... gotta love the conflicting messages. Thanks to Barbapapa for lending an editing hand on this one... the trans has been sitting around for about a month collecting dust.

In other news, Doubt chapter 12 is entitled 'Solution'... (let the conspiracies begin, right?), MiXiM12 chapter 9 comes in with what can only be called a pretty weird turn of events, and finally, Deadman Wonderland volume 3 is now completely re-released with chapter 12 and the omake... which is rather entertaining, I guess. I hope that everyone enjoys the manga, and yes, we'll be getting DMWL chapter 14 out soon... my shipment came in late and I've been sitting on all this stuff for a bit too long as it is.

.June 19, 2008 - My head hurts

-Snoopy.

K. I live in Austin, Texas. I feel bad for all the people with the flooding and stuff, my heart goes out to you, really, but why the hell can't we get some of that rain, huh? Why you gotta hog it all, huh? Huh? HUH!? We've been having like a month of nothing but 90+ degree days full of humidity... the only people here with living grass are the ones that aren't following the water rations. I'm sweating in my car with the air conditioning on.

Anyway, manga. We got a bit of a small update for you, but it's good nonetheless. Mixim 12 comes in with chapter 8, Lucu Lucu has chapter 25, and Shiki is released with chapter 5. And just so you know, we'll be putting out high quality scans for Shiki in July.

.June 15, 2008 - Blinded with SCIENCE

-Snoopy.

I'm happy to tell everyone that, not only do I have those two long-awaited Franken Fran chapters as well as another chapter of Change 123, but you're also getting redone chapters for both Doubt (chapter 5) and Deadman Wonderland (chapter 11), new Mixim 12, another chapter of Metroid (ending volume 1), and, last but certainly not least, a oneshot by the title of Karakuri.

Lots of stuff, no? Enjoy.

.June 6, 2008 - A few old friends, more on the way

-Snoopy.

First things first. Hi. I'm Snoopy and it's great to be here tonight.

Now, I've got a couple of things to let you know and a few chapters of manga to give you, so I'll get on with it. On the administration side of things, I'm in the process of rearranging some priorities that will hopefully get us back on track with everything. Since we're at a perfect place to take a little break from Bio Meat, I'm actually going to put it on an ever so slight hiatus for the next two weeks or so to allow me to work on other things. Over that time, we're going to be working to get caught up on Franken Fran (chapter 15 is the latest with 16 coming out this month) and we're hopefully going to be ramping up production on Change 123, since everyone seems to enjoy it so much. I'm also going to devote some time to the long lost project that is Himizu. That manga is like a skeleton in my closet that never lets me sleep peacefully... I just have so much to do that it gets lost in the shuffle and then it crawls out and yells at me. And that's the gist of what's going on around here. I MAY put out an editor request for Change in the coming weeks or I may search quietly, we shall see.

On to the manga. We're coming around with higher quality version of Deadman Wonderland for a while longer, and this release brings you chapter 10. The difference in quality really is astounding, so I recommend that everyone takes a look. Next up is Lucu Lucu chapter 24, with some wholesome demonic goodness. We follow that closely with MiXiM 12 chapter 6 (still in search of a plot). And to wrap up the line-up for the night, Doubt chapter 11 comes along with what I dare say could be the beginning of a climax. (Doubt also has a volume released, btw, we'll be bringing chapter 5 through 9 to you in high quality soon)

Enjoy!

.June 4, 2008 - Just an aside for now

-Snoopy.

Deadman Wonderland volume 3 came out recently, so we're redoing those chapters using the non-crap quality printing. This release is basically to give you the first of those higher quality releases (chapter 9) and to let you know that Doubt volume 2 also came out at the end of last month, has been scanned in, and will have re-releases with higher quality scans in the near future, as well. Hope you guys enjoy these, and that you're looking forward to our other releases (coming soon~)

.June 1, 2008 - Super busy times, Part 2

-Snoopy.

This update is actually a day late. Super sorry about that. I had all of this waiting for release like over a day ago, but just couldn't find the hour that I needed to get it to you guys. So, without further wasting of finger power, I'll just go ahead and tell you that we have MiXiM 12 chapter 5 for you today as well as the triumphant return of Change 123. The translator for Change is still combatting real world troubles at the moment, so we may continue to have a sporadic release schedule for that one, but I've got a considerable amount of time available to me tonight, so hopefully I'll be able to start getting caught up on all of the projects that died while I was sick and out of town. So expect some long lost friends next week.
